I've been thinking about doing that for a while. With a Tele Deluxe.
That's a beautiful Warmoth, though.

I wish it had been a T-style, but the guy who used to own this did it with an S-type. Oh well, at least it's a hardtail

thanks. I am already aware of Jeff's work - as a matter of fact, it's viewing his site that made me want to do this a long while ago. BTW, Jeff sure can play, too!

So, can you bypass the Variax circuit, and just play through your pickups as well?

You could... except that this one has dummy pickups on. But you could wire it up with regular pickups too fairly easily. I don't think I will since I have other guitars for that

Need a vid when you can get to it on this one. Would love to hear how the different options sound.

Well, first impressions after spending a fair amount of time with it:
1. The tones are as cool as I remembered them to be. 2. The quality of the Warmoth body and neck is superb 3. I am more than even convinced of the concept of taking the Variax guts and implanting them into a Warmoth "shell" 4. If I keep it, I will have to change the neck - the standard Warmoth shape is too thin for me. 5. ... which is too bad, because the figure on the fretboard is even better in person than in the pics.
