A few weeks ago I saw my first Dr Z amp. A friend recently became a Dr Z dealer and he had a few of these gems in his shop, including the RX ES. I was amazed by this amp, but figured it was a little out of my league of small weekend gigs ... frankly, I'm a Fender guy .... but darn it if I couldn't get the Dr Z out of my mind. Last weekend I drove to my friend's shop to look at a 5 watt Victoria 1x12 champ-like amp. It sounded great, but that Dr Z was just sitting there the whole time staring at me, daring me to buy it and take it home. Well not being one to back away from a dare, I took the Dr Z home with me ( out of spite ) This amp is amazing. Thanks Dr Z ! My two amps -Chad PS Thanks Myles, I've respected your opinion( on other boards ) on other amps an products in the past ( Rivera and Groove Tubes ). Your endorsement of Dr Z is what first peaked my interest.

Your Fender's going to be gathering dust now! With those two amps side by side do you find the Z louder? I know it's got a lot more tone. Not putting down the Vibroluxe Reverb. I have an old Blackface one that I'm not planning on ever selling. I think it's one of the most versatile Fenders ever designed.

Both amps are really loud. The Z is more "in-your-face" whereas the Fender is a little more glassy. The coolest setting when running the two in stereo is to add a slight amound of vibrato and reverb to the Fender and run the Z effect free.

Nice, chirpy. Welcome to the Z world, and in particular the RxES world! I'm a former Fender guy too, last one being a SF Bassman.

Welcome to the family Mike. I still have my fender deluxe, but my twin reverb is going for a stingray(hopefully). What speakers are you running in your RXES combo?

If you love Fender amps look at a Z-28 sometime!
In any case, with those two amps you have now you have a great combination!
