I've had my Mini for a couple of months now, and it is one loud little dude. I can't imagine using it at 9 o'clock volume for bedroom practice (maybe with really thick carpets and other sound-deadening fabrics?). I use it in my office (garage) and it cuts like a knife even at 9.
I also find that it stays pretty clean until I really hit it hard with the volume past noon, and then breaks up mostly in the fat lower mids. I have to admit it's never left my office, so I have no other aural comparisons.
On the plus side, I've been using it in stereo with my Maz 18, and the total effect is really cool. Maz for fat, Mini for cut.
Wondering if anybody else perceives it that way. Also would love to hear tube suggestions to get different results.

Cosmo: I have always thought exactly the same thing ...I never understood Dr.Z's description of the amp as a "distortion pedal" w/ a speaker hooked up to it ".I use a Weber Mini Mass w/ mine for distorted tones.

Well, not really.
For sitting on the couch, maybe. But in a live situation, the Mini can hang with a polite drummer & bass player, but that's about it.
If you want "cranked" tone at bedroom levels, you're better off with a Roland Micro Cube or Vox AD-5, IMO.
Great recording amp tho'! :-)
