Hey
Question for all of you SRZ owners.
Will this amp nail Keith Urban tone without any pedals?
Thanks

I think you are on the right path.... I think Keith is a good player, (singer, songwriter, etc)...and he generally seems like a decent guy.....but I don't find his tone that distinctive....(maybe that's due to swapping Guitars a lot).
I find his tone to scream more than most Nashville fellows, to an almost buzzing sound sometimes....(maybe that's due to playing a variety of Gibsons?)....who knows..... Maybe someone here knows if he runs a lot of Pedals. Mark

Yeah, I think an SRZ might come close, but I'm not sure exactly what the "Urban tone" is to be honest. I'm not really a fan, although I'll admit he can play... no doubt. What I've heard from him I seem to remember it being kinda "marshally" in terms of gain. Could be mistaken... it might be "pedal gain".
What I do know though, is that the SRZ kills for "marshally" gain stuff, easily nailing pretty much anything from Cream and Led Zeppelin all the way to Iron Maiden and beyond with different manipulations of gain and volume... not to mention different guitar volume and tone settings. Gotta turn the master up though... then it really turns into a monster. A LOUD monster!
Hopefully that helps a little...

I've been thinking about this tread, I've seen it several times. As I have collected my thoughts I have come up with the following:
First of all this question is a little tough becasue Urban is a country player, but he rarely uses typical country electric guitar tones. On top of that he uses humbuckers a lot. I've seen him use marshalls before as well. In my opinion Urbans tone is a bright distortion tone. Which the SRZ will nail for sure. I've been using my for my tele a lot lately for everything from rock to country. It is a very touch sensitive amp. I can get nice bridge pickups tele tones for chicken pickin stuff, and nice power chord drive when I dig in. If you are using humbuckers it will nail that too. I'd start with a fair amount of presence and treble. Drive around noon. If you tweek a few minutes I think you will find that those tones are in there.

It does nail the "SRZ tone". Sorry for the sarcasm. I like to believe we all can find our own tone. What sounds good to you might make us who we are.

I'm a huge fan of Keith Urban. However he is constantly changing amp setups. The last time I saw him, He was using Bad Cat, Bogner. On his latest Youtube stuff he's using a Hiwatt and 65 amps? The SRZ will nail it! Crank the volume turn down the gain to about 3-5 range.
