Everytime I used one of my OD pedals with my Mini I was so impressed that I would post a thread thinking I just found a great new combination. Now I finally realize that all my OD pedals sound awesome with this amp. I have a lot of OD and distortion pedals, and even the cheap ones sound great. Here is a list of all the ones I got and have tried: Keeley TS-9 Keeley FuzzHead Keeley BD-2 Keeley DS-1 Keeley SparkleDrive AnalogMan YJM308 Bad Monkey Screamin' Blues Dano Wasabi AO-1 Jekyll-n-Hyde Dano Blue Paisley OD Digitech Main Squeeze Compressor Pearl Co-04 Compressor

I find that most overdrive pedals don't sound good with my Mini when the volume knob is around 9 O'clock. The amp sounds overly compressed and lifeless. I've been trying & trying to find a pedal that will give me a nice open uncompressed tone when used with my Mini at low volume settings. I tried an OCD, a Fulldrive & a COT none of which did much for me. The only way I have been able to get pedals to sound good with my Mini is to run the Minis volume at noon or higher. Anything less than that & it doesn't sound very good to my ears. The Mini on it's own sounds great but I am trying to get higher gain tones out of it without having to turn up the volume to a level that my family just wont accept in the home. Maybe I need to try a different preamp tube? I don't know. If anyone has a suggestion please let me know.

I've been using a Tele--->Keeley compressor----->Klon------>Mini at 9 o'clock and getting a really satisfying at-home overdrive levels in a variety of colors, depending on how I set the pedals. I won't tell you that it sounds the same as the mini cranked, because it doesn't, but it is satisfying to play. I've tried a lot of ways to get to the "low volume cranked" and this *for me* is more fun than any combination I've tried. I currently own a Univalve, a Rt 66, a Train45, a bunch of champs and deluxes, vintage tubescreamer, Fulldrive pro, maxon D&S and I can't get a better combination with any other amps/pedals. In the past I've had loads of OD pedals, the airbrake and experimented with everything I could get my hands on and this is what I'm currently playing. It is a very simple and satisfying mini-rig.
