Hey guys, I'm a long-time fan of the Z's and soon to be first time user. I recently came to the realization that my post-married life, without a band, does not require or encourage a 2x12 boutique hand wired amp, so I'm trading in my Top Hat for my first Dr. Z -- a Mini (and credit towards an EJ Strat).
I love the sound of EL84s, but don't need 2 or 4 of em to blow the windows out of my house, not to mention my ear drums, so I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of my new Mini.
I also have a Victoria 518 (Tweed Champ clone) which is my current go-to amp. I love the sounds of single notes on that amp, but the chords get a little muddy for certain kinds of music. Do any of you have any expeirence with the Victoria to give me a good comparison and explanation as to how the Mini Z will compare?
I love the Brit chime and howl of the 84s, but also like traditional american voicing, so I was thinking of maybe getting an A/B/Y footswitch to mix the two, but don't know if its worth it. Any thoughts?
For what it's worth, I mostly play a '52 RI Tele with Fralin bridge pu, and a Strat, and every once in a while I'll pick up my P-90 equipped Les Paul.
Thanks for any thoughts -- I'm glad to be a new member of the Z team!

The 518 Victoria is a great piece of work. Getting an A/B switch is great for this and you don't really need the Y aspect as each amp alone is just great.
