Hey guy's, First off, I have a new Ghia coming to try out...played one through my Z-best CAB ( BTW does anything sound bad trough a Z-best? seems to make everything sound better...) and WOW I had to have one...So I've got a 2X10 combo coming next week.... MY QUESTION IS... if I had,.... say a Maz 18 NR 2X12 combo it would seem??? that I could switch out the GHIA and put it into the 2X12 (and vice versa w/ the Maz 18 in the 2X10) therefore making a GHIA 2X12 combo... Would the chasis/ screws fit?? looks like they would...I don't see that the Doc offers this combination and I haven't ever seen one??...wonder why, I would think it would sound cool?? has anybody done this... is there or would there be a problem doing something like this??? I ran it with my Z-best sounded awsome!!!! Jason

Hey Jugleaton, I'm really diggin ya' gear man!!!
And that idea about the Ghia and a Z'best, I never understood why they don't do that one?
I thought the Ghia was supposed to keep up with a Fender Super/Pro. Is its 18 watts able to keep up with those 2 and push a 2x12 cab in your opinion?

This thread hits home with me! I have wanted a 2x12 Ghia since I got my 1x12 Ghia. What I have recently done is purchased a head cab from Dr Z that matches my Z-Best cabinet. The head cab is a "factory blem", my description , not Z's. He explained to me he had several head cabs that had tolex problems and he would sell one to me. In any event it just arrived today at noon. After a quick look it looks to be in very, very good condition with only a slight nick in the tolex, much better than I anticipated. It has the correct grille cloth, but I need to add the corner brackets to the cab. I don't remember if it had the handle or feet on it. It is tan like my Maz 18NR and Z- Best. I will remove the Z amplifier from its 1x12 cabinet (red tolex) to the tan head cab and now can sit it on my Z-Best or take it to the studio and use a cabinet that they have. I am very happy with this. This whole turnaround took about a week. Dr z was very nice and accommodating. I appreciate his dedication to his products and his service to his customers. I am a big fan of his work. Joe

Thats cool Joe! How much did you give for the head box...might get the doc to build me one or maybe he has another one around the shop like you got.... I don't care what it looks like, or if it's got a blem... it's gonna get a bunch of scratches on it before I'M through with it!!! ;D I would definitely use it in a head with the Z-best but I'd keep the 2X10 combo to switch the chassis back into for a different sound....that would be cool!!! Jason - I don't know if the Doc would want me to post what I payed.........but let me say it seemed more than reasonable to me. I suggest you email or call him directly.
BTW, the head does have the feet and handle. I will order some corners and be all set. It is a very cool way to go............head or combo.
