Les Pauls are a dime a dozen (maybe great ones aren't) Z-28's are less common and $800 is a great price. I have a Ghia and Z-28. Initially I was disappointed in the Z-28 after the Ghia, now, except for when I really want super detailed clean sounds or that tele back pu through a Vox sound, it's always the Z-28. Just my 2c worth Brett

An old wiseman once said. You can do alot with a Great amp and a terrible guitar, but you cant do anything with a great guitar and a terrible amp.
for 800 bones, you best be jumping on a Great deal, dont pass it up. Youll regret it, trust me.

Buy the '28. It's a great amp. And, the price is good. As for the Les Paul? Start savin' now and watch and wait. There are plenny of 'em ... but sometimes it takes a while to find the "one" cheers always, eh Joel

Vote for get the amp, let the LP find you. I have had several LP's some better than others I would be hard pressed to say I have had any amps as good as the 28. I may be biased but when mine came back from Dr.Z's tune-up it seemed to be better than when it left in all ways...I think some extra magic dust fell on it... I have a LP now thats a good one...I have a 28 thats a great one.
