has anyone tried the Gator with a Route 66 head? according to drzamps.com, the dimensions of the Carmen Ghia head and the Route 66 are exactly the same, except the Route 66 is 7/8" taller. do any of you who own the Gator bag think there's enough room for a head that's about an inch taller? thanks in advance

Maction-- I just tried to put my Ghia in my Gator bag sitting on a 7/8" book and I couldn't get it to close all the way. There is only about 1/2" of room to spare with the Ghia in my bag by its self.

yeah it is a great case for the CG head. just bought my CG from Dewman last week and he threw in the Gator case w/ it?! it's absolutely a perfect fit. keep my power cable, speaker cable and extra tubes (in a padded box) in the pocket. I do have Tuki covers for all my other amps, but you can't go wrong w/ the Gator for the Z heads. super quality, strength and the price?! ps - try using the shoulder strap as a handle to carry it standing up on it's end. works great for me.

Le Cover is another great cover manufacturer. Excellent quality along the lines of Tuki but less $$
