Well I did it. I scored a Z28 on ebay to go with my Maz Jr Combo.
That's (2) Z's in two months. I gotta slow down!
My stereo rig was a Peavey Classic 50 and Mesa Stiletto Ace. It never did what I needed for small to med sized gigs so I went off on an adventure and landed in the Land of Z.
What a beautiful world it is.
I started with the Maz JR and used it with the stiletto. no joy. Tried it with the Peavey, still no good. Then I dusted off an old Gretsch 6161 with new NOS all around and new jenses had thought I had something special with that pair unitil I smoked the amp last week.
After snooping around the forum and the web till wee hours of the morning I decided the Z28 might just be the think to use with my Maz that would cover a different area of the sonic spectrum and give me the full sound I need for our 3 piece classic rock/blues band.
I need something that could give me more head room than the maz to cover cleaner stuff.
So the Z28 should arrive just in time for our next gig but the problem I have is that I don't have much time to get to know the Z28 and what speakers/cabs to use.
I have a Maz 1x12 combo with a G12H a 1x12 Dr Z expansion cab with a C Blue and a old Marshall 2X12 closed back cab that I have a G12H and a Weber V60 in.
I also have a (2) G12M's laying around and (2) G12-75 as well all siting in a box.
So, can anyone off some advise as to which speaker I might pair with specific cabinets for each amp to give me the most versatility in our music genre and best complimentary sound?
Anyone using these amps in stereo and or these speakers/cabs?
Any help would be most greatly appreciated.
Thanks
