I can't help but think that the Z28 doesn't get the recognition it deserves amongst all of the forumites here (or in general).
I love my Z28, and can't think of a better Strat amp. I can't wait until I have enough dough to buy a Z-Verb. That will really set it off. Admittedly, I play my Maz 18 Jr Nr a little more than my Z28 since I prefer humbuckers, but really appreciate what the Z28 offers that the Maz can't. I had brief thoughts of selling it for something else, but quickly came to my senses and decided to keep it.
Why does the Z28 go under the radar? Not too many 6v6 guys I suppose. Plus, the Remedy isn't helping. Oh well, just thinking out loud here. I get defensive when I see one of my babies being neglected.

Of the four Z amps I own and the others I have played, the Z-28 is probably my favorite.

I love mine, 112 combo with a Chinese greenback. Just put in a new tesla ef86 that sounds great! Using JJ6V6S's which sound a touch closer to 6L6's, gives the cleans more of a 5F6 bassman tone.

Does the Z-28 get enough love from other Z owners? No. Is it flyin' under the radar? Yes. Why? I'm not sure what the reasons are. What I do know, and based on my number of posts in the '28 section, is that for me it is my go-to. I am very fond of other Z amps, but at this point in life I think it is safe to say the '28 is my number one. Works nice with my number 1 guitar from EBMM and my number 1 effect from Lizard Leg (okay, so I got two 'Dragons) . ;D cheers always, eh Joel p.s. thanks for showin' some love for the '28

I've had mine for 5 years. That's the longest I've owned a amp. Z-28 & ES-135 help me find my sound.

Big love here for the Z28. I just posted a clip of mine in the sounds section. I had thought of selling it to help fund the purchase of a Remedy...but I am no longer offering this one. I just can't do it. Such a dynamic amp!

I just started my affair with the Z28 but things are still hot and heavy right now. Thanks again Madison

As an "other" Z owner (route 66) I can say I love the Z28. For me, I prefer the 66 for what I do, the Z28 doesn't have the girth and thump of the 66, it's a little thinner, but it's a awesome amp in it's own right. I could totally understand how many people would love the 28 over the 66. It has a much sweeter top end, sweeter clean, same response, and can get downright nasty when pushed. What's not to like?? ;D Great amp

Well I don't post much about it, or anything for that matter, but I play the Z28 I have daily. It is a great amp! It sounds great with 'buckers & '90s!

I just got my Heritage 157 yesterday, and it sounds phenomenal through the Z28 / Greenback. I'm still running a few pedals, but the 59' buckers sound great with the amp set on V-12, B-9, T-12. This wasn't an all out setting, but just a good all around tone that worked well with my pedals.
