giged with the 28 today, best amp ever and its amazing with stomp boxes really inhales them. ;D but at the end of the gig it started feedbacking and making a popping noise so i steped over to it for a peak inside, and i see the ef86 tube is like filled with blue lights and weird sh@# i turn it of and later turn it back on its no "lights" led on that tube seems all dead and no sound exept for the popping stuff so i asume its just a matter of replacing that tube right? and im also wondering if biasing is only needed for rectifier and power tubes changes or if its needed after a preamp tubechange to?

Bias only when changing power tubes - if you stick with the same rating and matched 6V6GT you shouldn't have to re-bias the amp. I use the Dario Miniwatt EF86 tube purchased through KCANOSTUBES.COM.
The EF86 is a fraglie tube. A lot of vibration can make them go bad faster than a 12ax7 or 5751 for example. Tube dampers help in that regard.
Best of luck on congratulations on the new amp!

did you buy it new or used? also is it a combo or head? I ask these questions because the new combo's come with a rubber sock over the EF86 to minimize vibration - they seem to work really well. So if you don't have one of those and it's a combo - I'd get one to protect that expensive tube.
Also my experience with Dr.Z is he's pretty cool if you bought it new and a tube fails - he replaced some power tubes for me that went out within two weeks of getting my amp. Also if you bought used, I'd consider a bias adjustment - I''ve bought a number of amps used, I actually think some people let their amps go because they were biased too cold, and just weren't delivering the goods (but they probably didn't even know it - just thought that was how the amps sounded).

its a head, bought it from george, dont think there is anything wrong with the amp the tube probably went r.i.p because of the loong journey lot of shaking and stuff on a airplane lol anyway i had a spare jj ef86 goldpin tube i replaced the gec with while im waiting for the miniwatt to arrive and the sound is pretty good (not vintage good but manageable ) and the amp is in exelent condition just the tube that.. well it was his time to wander probably socketed in a nice tube amp in heaven now hehe. and ya im using rubber bands on it the same that came with the gec tube so all good thx for posting
