Purchasing a new RXJR Head today, online from Humbucker Music..Going to be used at home for the most part. They have any speaker set-up I could want right now. Also any color including some green they had specially made. Pretty sure I am going red just because it's a Perscription
A bit unsure what speaker set up to get I am sure they will all sound good. I read an older article last-night . An Interview Doc did when he was first designing the 10" speakers..He had alot of good things to say about that set up.. It sounded as though the way he was doing the install of the speakers would perform more the 2x12 ..Than 10's Any thoughts or opinions before 4 today would be appreciated[glow=red,2,300][/glow]

Just read this. It's before 4 somewhere, so I'll throw out that the RX Jr sounds amazing through an Alnico Blue or Alnico gold, but the Prescriptions that I own sound fabulous through almost every speaker I've ever played them through. YMMV.

So far the only speaker that I didn't completely like in a 1x12 was the G12H30 as it was a bit too bassy for my taste. But even with that said, the G12H30 is still my all time favorite speaker. Now the combo of the G12h30/Blue is over the top incredible. I don't know why it worked so well like this but not by itself....oh well, it ain't broke.....you know the saying.

I think it's because the blue and g-12h both play off of the jrs best qualities, bassy, yet chimey with a sweet compressed percussive attack.. it's just an all around glorious combination

Fast frets bought the head ..still debating on the cab..The sales guy is really pushing me the way of the 2x10 but I think it has more to do with he has 3 of those on stock.. He didn't even bring up the smaller cab..
I am sorta thinking a z best ..Maybe I am over analyzing..is the z best with a v30 and H30 a good combo ..I suppose I could go this route and than put a blue in it/
or I could by the blue and the v30 1x12 or 2x10 or on an on..I guess I just gotta get my feet wet and hope I don't get an unpleasant shock

You might want to get some folks to talk about their experience with a Blue in a Z-Best. I lot of people think that the Blue doesn't like closed back cabs. Although the Z-Best is closed-back, it is ported so it might work. Also, I think the Theile Ported design of the Z-Best is designed specifically for the V30 and G12H30 although some folks around here have reported good results switching some speakers in the Z-Best. Benttop says everything sounds good through the Z-Best. I'm not sure what kind of sound you are after but my first cab with the RXJr was the Blue. Now that it is broken in, it has a wonderful chime, sweet mids and top, and the natural compression of the Alnico. If you are considering running heads that are over 15 watts, the Gold is very similar to the Blue but can handle 50 watts. I also have a G12H30 in a convertible and it has a very strong low end. This is a more modern type of rock sound. The G12H30 and Blue compliment each other extremely well when run together. I tried a V30 that wasn't broken in and I didn't care much for it. It is probably a lot better when broken in. Good luck on your speaker choice. Just remember what Benttop says, that the RXJr sounds good through most speakers.
