Head only, I have a used 2x10 old style Z cab that should be here tomorrow.
I ran it through my 2x12 open back with 2 blues. It's OK, A little muddy. I hear the potential. I'll follow up tomorrow with a report ;D

Congrats! Let us know how it all works out for you. While most people here will disagree with me, it took me a while to appreciate the Z28. Sure, you can fire it up and get a good tone at almost any setting; however, it took some tweaking time before it really grabbed me as a keeper. My Maz 18 Jr NR gets the majority of my playing time, but the Z28 definitely outshines the Maz 18 Jr in certain areas. Good luck. Hopefully it's tonal bliss!

Been using mine with the older Z 210 cab for the past coupla years. and, also have been using a matching 112 cab on occasion. The '28 is still my go-to amp (yes, ahead of a Ghia and a Galaxie). And, I'm still changin' up the settings from time-to-time. It truly is a lot o' fun ;D Looking forward to hearin' yer report, eh cheers always, eh Joel p.s. hopefully some of the other '28 supporters will chime in, regards to the cabs and speaker configs ....

I agree with the Doc! Even with 210's the amp has a resonant spank to it with great overall tonal balance. Focused thumping lows, killer mids, and a nice top end shimmer! Give er some time there Carrjimi...she can change tonally with a simple move of the treble, and bass controls. Congrats on the purchase!

I guess I should change my "muddy" comment.... It's not bad at all, Its just not as clean as my Stangray is through the two blues. I have played through a Z28 before and totally dig it. I can't wait to hear it tonight through the 2x10 cab ( UPS says it out for delivery).
It is a new amp, I bought it from Music Toyz up in Maine.
I'll repoort back tonight! ;D
