Hi there, this is my first post in this board and I'm not shure if this is the right place.
The thing is I have a Z28 and I want earlier break up. I've been reading about changing the rectifier to a NOS GZ34. I have a NOS Phillips Jan 5Y3 at home, can i replace the GZ34 with this one without rebiasing? would this give me early brake up?
Thanks in advance.

The 5Y3 will work, but you must re-adjust bias. Set bias for appox. 28 mA per tube.
