Being a long time fender guy{pre Z} and known for playing through 2 64 Blk face Super Reverbs on stage when I was touring with Delbert MClinton I would think I know what good reverb should sound like . so I unpack the Z Verb out of its own Fort Knox box. and there it was, a pretty red salt and pepper head ...same size as my Ghia. it came with a real long heavy power cord and a on /off foot switch that must be 15 or 20 ft long ...great for running up to your pedal board. I put it to work immediately as I am working on my new CD at the time. I set it on top of my Ghia, which is pretty cool. its like having double Ghias sitting on top of my cab . I plugged it in ....dead quiet!!! with a pretty blue jewel light and three knobs. tone, mix, dwell. this is reverb heaven. any kind you want . after suffering through every digital reverb on the market within seconds I knew the reverb I longed for from my old Supers was finally back in my rig . only this time its Doc's work and not Leo's! Ive owned at one time or another several old Fender reverb stand alone units. Z Verb wins hands down. I was very surprised by the tail of the verb ....long and lush. I'm thinking this is better than my springs verbs on my old amps. its no question that its a tube spring reverb sound but almost like fender reverb meets Lexicon. which is a good thing. I looked in the back and there is a small pan. I'm thinking how in the hell is the verb so long and lush with that small of a pan. I'm old school, give me long pan or give me death. so Doc tells me its a 3 spring pan {# 3 decay the longest they make} that Accutronics makes just for him.well I'm sold . if your needing to add some 3D to your already great sounding amp get one of these and I guarantee you will thank me ...............well you'll thank Doc. and if your wondering do I endorse Doc's stuff ... the answer is yes I do! ...every time I cut him a check.

Sounds like Big Red just grew another wart on top. Thanks for that review - I was figuring this reverb would be pretty good, but it sounds like it's even better than that. Thanks for the GAS!

Thank you for this info. A question that I didn't get answered on this forum was whether it was a 2 spring or 3 spring. I will be ordering mine in a week. And I'll be summarilly looking to dump my 63 RI fender reverb. Now can someone tell me if I can get this with a tan grill to match my head and cab?

Sounds cool!
Any chance you could get the model # from the reverb pan? There's a thread in the MazJr section on reverb, seems some Jr's have better reverb than others and mine is one of them with a small reverb pan.

How would you compare it to the Fender '63 Tank? (if you can)

How would you compare it to the Fender '63 Tank? (if you can) To me the difference is you hear the verb more than the springs if that makes sense. not as metallic ?

Like Dave states, I tried to get more of a natural ROOM type sound and less of an EFFECT type sound. I love spacious reverb from say a big open room, more fullness with less BOING. Sounds like a good add tag ....... DR.Z

Hello. Newbee poster, longtime reader here... the Z-verb is exactly what I was waiting for to add some reverb. I have been wanting a stand alone reverb unit for some time and this fits the bill exactly. Now the big decision on which color to order... I really like the blonde, but the Surf Green sounds rather unique as well...

Wait... I'm sure the Z-Verb can be used into the front end just like the Fender unit... no effects loop needed?

I'd like a Red one , wonder if I could get it with "F" Oxblood grillcloth to match my 1012 cab... I dug the 3 knob "verb" I had on my Vibro King

Just an afterthought here... I have my Z-Verb ordered, and now just wonder if I'll get it in black'n'tan or with the salt-n-pepper grill cloth...instead of a tan insert, as I want it to match my Stangray, because that's what it's for... and I keep thinking about tremelo. I think I may have to start a new topic somewhere about Tremelo... but where? I would suggest a combo 'verb & trem' unit inside the bigger Stangray-style cabinet ;D Keith
