Hey all - I ordered a bunch of tubes from Mike at KCA (nice guy and really helpful, as you all know) the other day, and I plan to replace everything in my Maz 38 as soon as I receive them. With the location of the rectifier being a tight fit, I just want to know up front exactly how it comes out of there. I can see that it has a metal clip at the top, but I'm unsure of what to do with it. I don't want to break anything or make any major mistakes, so I'd just like to have a good idea before I go in rather than learn by trial and (gulp) error. And I'd also like to avoid being shocked by that blue guy next to it...

Press down on the tabs on the side of the base, hold the tube by the base and gently wiggle it out of the socket. To place the new tube, line up the key on the tube base with the slot on the socket. Press down the tabs and gently seat the new tube, again holding it by its base. If he rectifier has been fired-up, it will be hot and leather gloves are recommended.
Don't worry about the blue cap--the electrical connections are on the other side of the chassis. I would turn off the amp before changing the tubes, however.
What kind of rectifier did you order?

Great! Thanks a lot for the tips.
I ordered the mislabeled NOS JAN Philips/Sylvania from Mike. Reviews were good on the site, so I thought it would be a good choice.
