Hey, have any of you Ghia guys tried the Ghia with one or two of the G12M or maybe in combination?

Tas, haven't tried that speaker, but I've got a Scumback M 75hz that'll be here Wednesday... Sort of a parallel to what you were asking, but it should be close enough to give you my impressions as to how it compares to the Ghia through Vintage 30's, 70th Anniver. H30's, Scumback 75hz and 55hz H30's, and Blues. That's all I can offer for the moment... That, and based on my experience, if you're gonna spend the big bucks on a Heritage H or M speaker, my personal choice based on my experience thus far would be to go with the Scumback equivalents (they're actually less expensive too).

Thanks, Peach. You are a veritable wealth of knowledge. Zane, I thought they might have been a good combination. Can you ship your rig to me so I can try it? ;D Aahh, one more click and I'm a Senior Member. Hooray!

Hey Tas,
Try mixin' the Heritage Greenback on the top of the cab (if you're standing it vertical), and a 75hz H30 on the bottom... This is a FANTASTIC speaker pairing for the Ghia, and might be my new fave. Having the Greenback on top balances out the mix of the two speakers nicely given that it's got a 3db lower sensitivity than the H30.
The Greenback yields that awesome midrange and some extra warm smooth breakup, and the H30 keeps things punchier and more detailed, with a nice tight bass and articulate top end. I'm falling in love with this Scumback "M" 75hz -- so not a true Celestion Greenback - more similar to the Heritage than anything. Actually, if you listen to the speaker shootout clips from the Gear Page, there are some pretty decent similarities between the tone of the Heritage Greenback and the Scumback "M" 75hz despite the fact that the Heritage is a 20 watt speaker, and the Scumback is a 25 watt speaker.

I just got my Ghia this week. I am experimenting with speakers right now. One of the best sounding so far is a Scumback 75hz. It sounds much better than the Vintage 30 to my ears. It is warmer and gets rid of the piercing highs. It is definitely a good speaker in my Ghia combo. I have about 10 others to try in it before I select one, but it is one of the early favorites for sure.
