Hi everyone. I have a Maz 38 with a G12h30 and a V30 but they are 8 ohms each. I have run them in parallel at 4ohms but prefer the sound in series at 16 ohms. My question is if I run the positive lead to the g12h 30 first does that mean it gets the full 40 watts of the amp first or is the power distributed evenly to both speakers equally at the same time? Also as a side note has anyone else tried this but wiring the V30 first and if so did you notice any tonal differences? My guess would be yes. Buster

Doesn't matter which way you wire them - two 8 ohm speakers will share the load equally. There are differences in the response between series and parallel though - Parallel tends to be stiffer than series. Some folks prefer one, some prefer the other.

Thank you kindly Benttop for that answer. I started wondering about that since I read that DrZ was blowing Blues in Stangrays when they were wired in Series as opposed to Parallel. I wonder what has more effect on sound/response, the speakers in series as opposed to parallel or the fact that the amp runs at 16 as opposed to 4 ohms. Any thoughts on that one? Sincerely Buster

Not sure I know why. I could speculate that it has to do with a number of factors, but speculating isn't really answering the question, so I'll defer to someone who actually knows.
