I need to retube my Z 28 as its blowing fuses every time I fire it up. The Experts forum mentioned it may be my rectifier tube..
Anyone have some NOS suggestions? Iwant some good minty, sparkly 6v6's

I'd definitely call Mike at KCA. He's never steered me wrong on tubes.

I am using a mullard GZ34 and stock 6V6 tubes... sounds great. I have some RCA NOS 6V6 but to be honest if there is a difference I can;t hear it. I did however hear the rectifier switch...best trade for the buck out there as far as non invasive improvement. Its immediate and noticeable...on the NOS power tubes I could almost talk myself into hearing things that perhaps were or were not there.... so I stuck with the OEMs. I also have some JJ 6V6 tubes which are groove tubes essentially, they sound great as well. IMHO try the rect. switch first...

NOS for the v1 and v2 ( www.thetubedepot.com )and the link to dougs tubes www.dougstubes.com/ for a medium set of 6v6s. I also put in NOS ones here but it's a bit hit and miss with output tubes. The rectifier I changed from Sovtek to NOS GE but in this position I didn't notice a lot of difference (on the the Ghia it was huge) Brett ps also posted same reply to your similar post in tubes section

Dude that sucks. I did change out the rec. tube for the JJ. I played it several times and didnt have an issue with the fuses. For any reason you/we do not get it resolved with a rec. change. I/we will get it resolved one way or another. I want you to be 100% happy with this trade and I will make sure of it.
