Hey Guys!
I was wondering if the Mini-Z would be appropriate for apartment use. I tried the amp a few weeks ago and it would definitely suit my needs *IF* it can be tamed enough...
What I'm mostly wondering is : has anyone tried it with an AirBrake to bring it more in the 2am-don't-wake-up-the-neighbors realm? If so, how was it?
I already have an AirBrake and I would be using it through a Z-Best 2X12 cab.
Any comments would be highly appreciated!
Thanks,
yarmo
P.S. I'm still madly in love with the Route 66... ;^)

I have the head version with the built in attenuator. Based on my experience using a 1x12 cab (G12M) I would say that you would not be able to run a 2x12 Z Best at apartment levels.

It depends on your neighbors... and if they like you're playing. If you have a Z-Best, stand it up vertical and it could help and/or get it off the floor. A Mini-Z is still easily able to push some air. It's only mini in wattage and theory.

Hey yarmo, I have a mini Z head and a Z-Best cab and even with the attenuator fully on its still to loud if other people are sleeping near by. For that kind of situation head phones are the only alternative. Allot of people on this forum use the Vox Mini Amp/Amp Plug for silent playing.

Hi Yarmo-this goes hand in hand w/ another thread posted. He's asking about using an external attenuator w/ the mini z head. That's what i'm doing and it is required as I'm in an apartment building and I simply can't go past 9o'clock w/out it getting too loud. I don't think the built-in airbrake is enough to tame this little beast either. An external attenuator on top of it all works very nicely. As someone else said before-it is only mini in theory-in reality, the mini is a monster way louder than it's wattage would have you believe.
