I may seriously die before tomarrow. I got a Z from Hogridr and while packing he forgot the power cord. Thank God he did the packing as well as he did be cause UPS left it out in the pouring rain. Anyway, it should be here tomarrow but I was wondering if my Power cord for my Mesa Boogie or my PowerBlock would work and what am I looking for as far as Voltage and such? Thanks.

Yeah, any ISO type power cord will work for the most part. I have a whole stockpile of them from various places here, and just pull one out when I need it. Pull one off the back of your computer if that's what it takes, just let's hear that glorious tone over here! It's only 2000 miles - I think the SRZ is up to it.

Instant fuse blow Steve... You blew a fuse? Which one? I hate to say it, but that's not a power cord issue unless you actually jammed a cord that doesn't fit into the receptacle.

Wow...I've just used old computer cords all the time with no problems. I wonder if maybe a bit of condensation did manage to get inside the amp?

What bentop said. Maybe a bad rec tube?

What bentop said. Maybe a bad rec tube? That'd be my guess as well, or a bad power tube. I've had some bad luck recently with GT EL34 LS's in particular.....maybe one got damaged in shipping.

Hum, I'll have to check it out. It was the 3a fuse right next to the power cord. It was dry right out of the box, even left it stabilize in the box wrapped with on the cut open for 10 hrs before I remove it from the box. It sat in my music room for almost 48 hrs. Wouldn't think it was mosture.

FYI, the cord slipped right in no issue.

Sounds like a Recto or power tube may have got killed by the trip. That wouldn't be all that unusual really.

Yep something else other than the cord. I changed the fuse and used another cord and same thing. So when the cord gets here I'll have to take it to someone to get it fixed. damn I didn't get my Airbrake today either and my birthday is tomarrow.. Sad isn't it?

I don't have El's in my Mesa and the Recto tube is the big bottle kind so no luck there. Trans Siberian Orchestra tonight or I would be on my way now. Thanks

I'm no expert, but I think when fuses blow, it's typically the rectifier. Does that sound right to you guys?

Get an NOS 5AR4 or GZ34 rectifier tube in there and most likely you'll be good. Let us know how it goes!

I'm no expert, but I think when fuses blow, it's typically the rectifier. Does that sound right to you guys? You are right ... it is generally the rectifier if all was already working fine before. But ... it can also be a shorted power tube. If you are still having issues and want to give me a call send me a PM and I will send you some numbers where I can be reached. The SRZ65 is a spectacular piece of work and I don't like to see them sit idle when they can be making great music
