Very cool tones I got from this thing in my limeted time playing it. I will totaly hold off with over all in tone, but I have to ask. Is this brightness you guys proclaim come on harder at higher volumes. I played it for short periods at different levels and I didn't notice it being overly bright. I say it's brighter than the Z-28, but not what I was thinking when you guys were describing it.

The rxjr can be very bright but the eq on it is very useful, so it will only be overly bright if you make it overly bright because the amp also has a lot of low end. As far as it having more high end at higher volumes, i don't believe is the case, i like to crank mine and i have not noticed that. But this is definately an amp that loves to be cranked.

Ok, I like the amp. It sounds great. I can't waite untill I get a good long run with the amp turned up. I found a very cool setting today and was loving the clean hair I was getting.
The Cel. Blue is wonderful sounding speaker and it's not even broken in yet. I need to try my other amps through it.

I would write that down and try more settings. Pretty much every time i play mine i try a different setting and i haven't found one that i didn't like. There are just so many possibilities with the rxjr. Don't hold back from turning those knobs

Is this brightness you guys proclaim come on harder at higher volumes. Dave, Congratulations! It really is a great little amp. I've found it to be rather dark actually. For a while, I was running it w/ the bass all the way down. I haven't had the opportunity to run it through one of the Alnico Blue variants yet. In comparison to my MAZ Jr NR, it is not nearly as bright. I really like the contrast between the two running together in stereo.

In comparison to my MAZ Jr NR, it is not nearly as bright. I really like the contrast between the two running together in stereo. Well, there is so much bass on tap and the mid nob totaly thickens everything above 12 o'clock it's easy to get it dark. More so if you play fat ceramic based pickups. While I'm not done turning the nobs. I have found a cool home in bass rolled all the way back, mid at 11 o'clock, and the high's maxed. This gived me my basic tone I like but with the Rx vibe. It still has a tone of bass. The two greatest things in limbo is where to set the volume nob at and which cab. The volume thing is very cool. There is where the magic comes from for me so far. Clean, hair, hairy, gain and more gain. The hairy sound and then boost is pretty f'ing good also. Did I mention how great this speaker sounds? It needs more trials but it already has the makings for being my fav. speaker I have ever played. It has that thing the Weber Blue Dog had, not as dark, and way sweeter. DAVE

I mentioned the 2 blues and someone who in most cases is right brought up the question about america and voxy speaker thing. I've done it before and it was my fav. clean sound for funky surf punk. So, I think it could easily work for alot more than that. It sounds really nice.
