I have a Z28112 combo with a stock Chinese GB, sounds great, but, I keep going to the weber site and looking at the 1225/prerola. I'm one click away from orderring one but just can't pull the trigger, and now there's a 15% sale going on...
Anyone A/B'd these speakers with a Z28? Is it a noticable improvment? I love the way the stock GB breaks up but can it be better?

AMG, I have a two Marshall 412s, one with 4 Celestion Greenies, and one with 4 Weber 1225s. I prefer the Webers. They sound like Greenbacks, just more alive.

The 1225 pre-rola'd is supposed to be a clone of the GB, but it is a bit different IMO. I think it has a touch more zing, is a tad more efficient as well, and maybe a little more bass. Everybody hears different things, but I'm wondering if it doesn't split the difference between the GB and G12H30 for my ears.
Warning - I don't have a Chinese GB but rather have several older GB's to compare to. I've heard some new GB's that sound pretty doggone good though. While I truly like my 1225, I'm thinking it might not be enough of a difference/improvement to warrant a purchase, especially if you already like the Greeny you've got.

try a RedFang, really sounds good with my Z28 1-12. actually I think toilet paper wrapped around a coat hanger with a couple of refrigerator magnets would sound good thru the 28. Killer amp
