Anyone have any experiences or thoughts to share on the German made NOS EF86 tube from RFT? Yep, its a good tube. Durable, good gain, nice tone if a bit darker than some. The ones I've used were not particularly microphonic, but it was in heads (RxES and Route 66), haven't tried them in a combo.

Should be fine. I have a couple in my tube box, along with a Mullard, a Dario Miniwatt and half a dozen Amperex bugle boys. I've tried them all, and they are pretty similar, all are better sounding and more resistant to microphonics than the Svetlanas and EH tubes. I haven't tried the new Tung Sol.
When I got my Route 66 it had an RFT and it was great, I switched to a Dario and it was a bit brighter, but the Route is a dark amp to begin with.
