So I've been having issues with my new 38 head, and thanks to some advice and help from people here on the forum, I'm making progress. I have a dis-connected reverb cable, the one marked with red marker, and I'm trying to get the d*&$ thing back in place. The problem is that its extremely difficult to reach back in there and get any sort of an angle to put the cable back in. Does anybody have any advice as to how to access the reverb tank in an easier/more efficient fashion than just trying to reach back? I'm getting very close to success, but just can't get the leverage needed to actually plug the cable in. Please, any ideas? ?

Progress- got the cable back into its correct place, but now another problem. In the process of plugging the "jack" end back in, the corresponding "fastened" end of the reverb cable has become very loose. I do not know if a connection is bad, the loose one can be freely wiggled, whereas its counterpart is fastened quite well....
Bottom line- amp powers up fine, and I have mostly eliminated the hum problem I was having, but still NO reverb. At this point I'm thinking of taking it to a tech unless somebody has some other recourse to suggest. Are all Z dealers required to have someone qualified to work on Z amps? I'd like to avoid shipping it anywhere again, as I think that's how I got to this point in the first place (D*** UPS...)

Take the reverb tank out. I believe it's a couple of wood screws that hold the pouch in. Inspect the tank... llook for broken wires. The internal wires are very thin. If you don't know what to look for then get it to a shop. A good repair shop should be able to take care of it if it's just the reverb. Let us know how you make out.
