OK,
Seen a comment or three on this. Any one have some insights on what this is going to be based on (EL84/6L6/etc). What is going to be the take on this one? Voxy? Fenderey?
Thanks for the insight.

This is the prototype we played at Z-Fest this year. 6V6 power tubes, twin volumes (like an early Bassman or Marshall) and I have seen here that there will be a half power switch. This one was about 40 watts if I remember. It sounded amazing.

The Remedy is a 4x6V6 amp. It is based on the old "4 input" Plexi Marshall sound; it has one "high" channel and one "bass" channel that are internally jumpered, with a volume control for each on the front panel. It also has a bass, middle, and treble control that works on the output. It's based on the old "jumper the channels trick" that a lot of players do to their 4 input Marshall and Bassman amps. By having a volume control for each channel, you can dial in the ratio of "bass" channel or "treble" channel that you want in the output.
The sound is very percussive, with a lot of smooth midrange grind and complexity. It also gets a great high end sparkle from the 6V6's. The bass is very tight and controlled (as in every Dr. Z amp). The amp is very dynamic and touch sensitive, and cleans up incredibly well with the guitar's volume control.
You can hear it on my Youtube page, on my crappy camcorder video. ;D Curt played it at this year's Z-fest (He named it the "Curt", although Z later named it the "Remedy"). Curt played it on "Can't you See"; you can hear as he introduces the amp how percussive it is and how it cuts. I think he also played it on "One Way Out".
After Z-Fest Doc got an idea for a new 1/2 power switch in a way that no one has done before. I got to play it at Z's shop a couple of months ago and the 1/2 power mode is *awesome*.
Just what the Doctor ordered......

You're right groovergeorge, this just ain't fair. I'm a soon-to-be Z owner, and just when I thought I was close to choosing from among the list of stellar options, I read about the Remedy! Now I'm more undecided than ever. I think the good doctor must be a sadist, ... certainly a genius mad scientist and #1 marketer extraordinaire. Can anyone make the pain go away?

So is the Doc planning to also offer a Greenback-loaded 4x12 closed back cab to fit the Remedy? I'm first in line.

Plex-Ztm
Sounds like a "Remedy" that would need FDA approval.

Hello everyone, new to the board. The Remedy has me very intrigued, I read where it was in production is there a release date or delivery date to dealers?
Great board and great contributors!

Thanks for the reply doc, I am visiting a dealer next Friday. If you look at my post in the Galaxy forum you can see what I am considering.......realization is telling me I would love to have all three amps! I just love the old plexi sound. Then again there is the tweed sound and the flexibility of an RX. I have heard an RX and a Maz GT and was more than impressed by both. I guess I am realizing that whatever I choose I can't go wrong.....
Thanks again,

BTW Doc - is this just going to be a head or will there be combo versions? Also, any idea on price range? Galaxie, EZG, Stingray?? Just a ballpark would work so I know how much I have to work to get this one
