I love the tone of the MAZ 38 with the pre-gain (Volume) all the way up. It has a nice Plexi type tone, but it's way too loud... I might have been a MAZ JR canditate rather then the SR but hind sights 20/20.
I realize the ultimate solution is to get the Z-Break, but someone told me that I should be able to remove two the power tubes and this would cut the power in half. I'm hesitant to do this until I ask you.
If it is possible, which ones can be removed, the two outer or two inner?
I will not attempt this until I hear back from you or Myles et all.

Nope Paul you can not on a single resistor cathode biased amp. The single bias resistor value is for four tubes to drop the correct bias voltage, 2 will not.
