I sure hope it's a nice amp ... I'm the winning bidder, and it's getting here on Tuesday! The weight doesn't bother me ... I just can't wait to try it out.

deacon, you stole it at that price....and if you can build you can make different cabs to slide the chassis into...but, I have a feeling that 4-10 is going to do some serious talking... congrats on a Z purchase and a good price to boot...

Thanks I thought it was a really good price. I've emailed a few cabinet builders about making me a head cab for it. I thought I might like the flexibility of the combo or being able to run it through my cabs. I'm looking forward to the 4x10 configuration, though. All my other amps are 12" speakers. I'll make sure to post a review once I've gotten a chance to play with my new Z-28. deacon, you stole it at that price....and if you can build you can make different cabs to slide the chassis into...but, I have a feeling that 4-10 is going to do some serious talking... congrats on a Z purchase and a good price to boot...

Hi Joel Thanks. I'm looking forward my Z-28's arrival. I'll put up some clips of it once I've had time to figure it out. My band's next gig is Friday, Oct. 31st, and I'm planning on using the Z for that one. I'm planning on recording that gig, so I should have some tunes with the Z in the band mix after that. Take it easy ... eh. deacon, you got yerself a Z-28 4x10 combo? Congrats on yer new acquisition and welcome aboard. Now crank it up and let 'er rip! ;D cheers always, eh Joel

Deacon,
Congrats on the new amp!! I was actually stalking that amp on eBay for a while, but decided to get the head that was listed on there. Stout-Hearted (Jon) on this forum was selling the head in blonde with a custom valence. I'm sure you saw that one too. It sounds far better than anything I've ever played on (let alone owned). I ordered an Avatar 112 Vintage cabinet with a Celestion Greenback, and am hoping that comes in soon too.
Anyhow...I think we both made out pretty good! Best of luck to you.

I'm glad someone picked it up! The price sure was right. I would've considered it, however it seemed as if it would be really heavy...and I really want a Galaxie...

Thanks man I'm glad to hear that your new Z-28 is working out so well for you. My 4x10 should be arriving today. I'll put up some review notes after I get some playing time with it. Yeah, it's a bit if a load. I'm 6'5" and about 275, so 69 lbs. doesn't bother me much. I'm also tall enough that I can pick up a 4x10 combo without having to bend my arm up to keep it from dragging on the ground. Looking forward to my new Z-28 getting here. Without a doubt this is the best explanation I have ever heard for the "Pro heft" argument. You, buy virtue of this post alone have the express right to own that amp!!!!.....

LOL For a lot of my buddies, size and weight of their gear is a pretty important consideration. I'm willing to tolerate some unwieldiness if it means I'm getting great tone. OTOH, I recent changed my PA mains to Peavey PR15 neodynium cabs. Man, it's nice getting a good PA sound out of cabs that I can carry w/ one hand. Yeah, it's a bit if a load.
