Hi, How long will a typical NOS 5751 live in the PI slot of a Maz compared to the Sovtek 12AX7LPS? As I understand it the PI typically is the hardest working tube in an amp, and should as a rule of thumb be changed after every 2 or 3 sets of powertubes (I might be very wrong here... ). I tried a NOS RCA 5751 as PI in my Maz, and the result was a more pleasing topend to my ears when pushing the amp a bit. If I will get considerable more hours out of the NOS 5751, I might consider using it as a PI, if not I will continue using a Sovtek 12AX7LPS. I know NOS tubes last very long in V1 and V2, but I'm not sure about the PI slot...?

The output section of the MAZ is not hard to drive and does not have to be changed every or every other output tube change .... look for a use of thousands of hours.
