Hi there, I'm hearing weird sound when i turn my amp on. Even if no jack is plug in front. If i touch the EL 86 , i can hear it through the speakers . I guess it's microphonic. Am i right ? If i do the same with the other tubes, i dont hear them through the speaker but still, there is some noise. Does it mean i have to change them all By the way, what kind of tube the Ray is suposed to be ship with ? Many thanks for your help

Well don't do that! Seriously, is there a reason you are grabbing on to the EF86? They are all a bit microphonic from my experience. Normally you'll have either some shrink tubing over the top of it, or a rubber band or two around it's middle to try to help relieve some of the noise caused by being microphonic. But if they get too microphonic, they need to be replaced. My Stingray came with a Dario, but Dr. Z will put in what is available and works, so you could have something else.

As long as your tone isn't affected, then don't worry about it. As Benttop said, all ef86 seem like they're on the verge of going microphonic anyways, and if I tap on mine I can hear it louder than the other tubes too. You'll know when it goes, your tone will either start sounding bad, thin or distorted... or maybe a "howling" going on too.
My Ray also had a Dario in it as well, but my RxES I had last year had a different ef86 in it.

Well, that dont really help me. Concerning my tone, i found it " tiny " when playing at very low volume. It gets better when playng louder ( around 11 oclock ).
So if the crackle and hum problem doesn't come from the fact that the EL86 is microphonic, where does it come from. I'm lost....

Sounds like it could possibly be the rectifier tube. Maybe.
