Hi, I purchased an RX and like it.
I was wondering what folks do about the power cord in the back. I'd like to secure it during transit and have considered adding some hardware to wrap it around or maybe some Velcro to secure it.
Has anyone here come up with a solution to secure the power cord in the back, and is so, could you post a picture of your solution?
Thanks, Billy11

Hi benttop,
Thank you...that is a cool solution!
I haven't seen these covers and will check them out.

I use one of those ratcheting cable clips you find at home depot, and coil the chord and clip it to the amp handle.

Not sure if this is helpful, but my amp tech has swapped out "hard wired" cords and made them IEC (the removable kind) on a few of my past amps. He said it takes him about 5 minutes. If you plan on keeping the amp, this may be an option? He did say it depends on weither there's enough room in/on the chassis to do this...... Not sure how much room are in the Z's?
FYI: This mod is not reversable since he would have to cut a notch in the chassis to install the IEC connector.

I think Doc has the RXES on a different chassis, and couldn't fit the IEC on it. I remember seeing a post about it somewhere around here, maybe in the Doc's notes section?

I have a couple of z heads and found the cord to be kind of a pain. Here is what I did--went to the hardware store and purchased a couple of coat hooks--took the screen off the back of the amp and secured the hooks to the screen, put screen back on. With this setup you can wind the cord around the two hooks--this has worked very well for me and I can even get my studio slip cover on with no problem. If I could figure out how to get a pic on here I would show you, but have not figured that out yet. Hope this helps--Jester
