I know it's made to replicate original AC30's, knowing Dr. Z, it's even better than the Vox cheap China-made ones.

That is one nice line-up you have going and how is it you get by with this set-up in the band. Just don't listen to them! My guys would have a crapfest over that much sound coming at them. But then maybe I should try that on the next gig.

ya know, I've owned an AC30 cc and borrowed a late 90s AC30 and the ray is pretty much described above... More highs and lots more low end on tap. The AC30 tone is a bit more mid rangy to my ears, but the ray does have a pretty strong mid range too. Ac30s also feel "stiffer" to me, but that's not always bad either.
The two do sound alike, but different enough to justify owning both
