Hello guys! I need some help in the design of a new rig design. I would like everyones input if they think the funtion of my rig will light up with what i have in mind. Basically I am wanting to use two heads as a two channel amp. This will be done with a 4x12 stereo cabinet used as two 2x12's. The idea is to have a Brit side and a Fender clean side. Main guitar: Warmoth Strat with Rio Grande Texas/BBQ humbucker set with coil splitter (actually gets some nice single coil tones) and a Dirty hairy sc in the middle. What I am thinking of putting together:Whirlwind A/B-Y controls the path Blue side: Fulltone Ocd for some drive Analog delay chorus '65 Fender Bassman head w/spring verb Red Side: Fuzz Face Analog Delay Holey grail verb Mini-Z 4x12 cab: Birch shell Blue side- emenince Texas Heat Red Side- Emenince Governers I am thinking about building a baffle too.... and maybe cutting a port on the back of the blue side? Here is the configuration at in a graphic form on this site: millbranchstringtheory.homestead.com/untitled1.htmlLet me tell you a little about my style: Fusion, blues, south rock, country. Fusion is the main...... I am hoping for a cross between eric johnson, robin ford, and scofield. What do you guys think? Jason

Btw, I think that would be a killer setup.

the spring reverb on the bassman would be external. Like a fender spring unit or I may build something. If all else fails---- stomp box

Not sure if you already have the 4x12, but if not, I would look for a 1x15/2x12 or 1x15/2x10. The 15" speaker gets the Bassman and the 2x12 or 2x10 gets the Mini Z. Randall makes a 1x15/2x12 and Budda and Kendrick have made a 1x15/2x10.
You might also try a Mesa Boogie 4812 (4x8" and 1x12").
Just some other speaker size ideas for a cool rig.

Thanks... I have actually been thinking about using 10's on the Z side. Has anyone had any experience with 2x10's vs 2x12's using the mini? I already have a 4x12 cabinet, but I am modifying it to fit any config I can come up with

Let me know how it works for you. I am thinking of a way that I can make 10's work in the cab. I might have to glue in the difference.

10's really sound incredible! Especially the new GB's.
