So how is that thing working out for you? I didn't hear any mention of it's greatness or anything.

I like to wait until I use it in a live situation before reviewing anything. My "studio" room at home is somewhat sound proofed and therefore pretty dead sounding. I put it in a homemade open backed cabinet and it sounds great already so expect it to be even better out in a club enviroment. It is warm and breaks up nicely. It is a little less volume than my 4 ohm V30 Tonemaster (2X12) cab which is what I will use at bigger gigs. My next gig is not until the 24th and I will probably use the Tonemaster cab with the 28 and my Maz too to see what they sound like together. Should be fun. First impressions of the speaker is really good and clearly less harsh than the V30 I had in there. Nice even sounding no real humps that I can tell. Takes all the Z28 can dish out no problem. I would say a great buy at around 100 bucks.

O-very nice!!!
I'm the same way. All things sound great untill you put another guitar, bass, drums, DJ, and a singer in the mix. Yeah a gig or a hard practice really makes it of breaks it for a amp or speaker change. Fuzz pedals generaly need a gig to get everything working right with the volumes.

That's the truth.. how many times do you get to a gig with presets in your mind for some new piece of gear that you devised at home, and then everything goes out the window and you end up with totally different settings and impressions. It's two different worlds for sure.

This one of the reasons I find the Maverick hard to work with.
To be honest it's not hard to work with. It's you can't go freaking out and changing to much at one time. Your better off leaving it as the sound is good it's just how your hearing it. No one else will know.
Pedals? They will screw you over and over again.

Dave, I re-did my custom (homemade) 1X12 cab by re-inforcing the front baffel (the cab is made of 1/2 " oak) by adding another 1/2" of oak and mounting the speaker correctly. I have to say it is giving my Maz a real run for it's money. I can't believe the low end I can get out of this dinky little open back cab! Here's the little monster I created that now has the Weber C1225 loaded in it. Perfect match for the Z28. This thing weighs next to nothing too. This was taken before I got the head or 1225 but you get the idea. Pete
