I was fiddlin' with my Mini Z amp last night, and finally plugged in the Rev Rocco, and this tone came out of the speakers. For some reason, it instantly reminded me of this song, so I went ahead and recorded it. Gotta love it when *gear* inspires you

I dig that man...Real nice.
I met JP in a grocery store in Nashville several years ago. Super nice guy. Always loved that song also.

Thanks guys. I have never met him, but I am a huge fan of his. For the life of me, I'll never understand how Britney Spears has a career, and John Prine is widely unknown in his own country...

I love the sound you get on that video. Curious what the volume and attenuator settings were on the Mini. Thanks.

Attenuator on 4, volume at 1100hrs, and the head was plugged into an Avatar 2x12... if I remember correctly.

that was cool mojo T,,i thought at first it was going to be the allen jackson tune midnight in montgomery.. you inspired me to try some more simple type stuff like that(some of us guitar players are trying to hit too many notes you know),, that song was featured recently in the movie " into the wild", the girl sang it in a open mike thing,,, were you using the neck pup on the reverend or the middle,, my guess is the neck..

Thanks! I was using the neck pickup, to try and just start to overdrive the Mini Z, so I playing w/ the vol knobs to get to that breaking point... I never liked too many notes - mostly because I can't do it - but realistically, the three main influences that made me switch from playing the sax to the guitar were Eric Clapton, BB King and Mark Knopfler - not exactly known as shredders!
