anyone know of a good sounding distortion pedal for the Z 28 or any Z amp in general. Just trying to get some high gain tones out of a z amp.

I run a DOD 308 {Yes, the Malmsteen pedal} when I want more grit/singy style distortion. I think it rounds out the overdrive sound nicely into a singy style distortion.
I used slightly boosted and with the gain just a little past 1 oclock into the Z at V. 12 oclock, B. 9 oclock, T. 3 oclock....
In this one song it does this little think where it bounces notes and then stalls on a higher note. Hard to explain, but the bottom line is I play the note as still as a bass player and it sings with sustain in the most wonderful ways.

I think they are $40 new one ebay.
Super undervalued as people don't know how to use it.

What happened? Caught you a little off guard with a $40 pedal in the world of $200+ pedals? No responce. I guess you didn't take it serious. I wouldn't BS you. It's a great pedal and under valued. Hell, Analogman sells them stock and modded. Should tell you something.
So good and so cheap I own two. One I use and the other new in the box just in case. Haha like it's gonna break....

I am sorry, I didnt know you were waiting for a response. That DOD pedal is cool, I had one before. I little noisey but your righ you cant crank the gain on it. I used it infront of my blues deluxe and it sounded great. I took the peddle apart though to make a smaller foot switch for the Carvin Belair I had at the time.
I did go ahead and bought a MI Audio Crunch Box, it should be here Thursday.

I haven't experienced any noise with mine. Guess I'm lucky.
Good deal on the Crunch Box...
