Right now I have an OCD for sustain and a rc booster for extra crunch infront of my z 28. I have the z 28 on about noon volume wise. Just wanting a little bit mor ehigh gain and wonder if anyone used a mxr distortion plus infront of the z 28 or any z amp for that matter. How did it sound? any recomendations on distortion pedals? I had the GT 500 once but did not like the distortion side of it so I probably wouldnt like Fultones distortion pro

My DoD 308 sounds pretty good and is the cheapest pedal I own. I don't use it alot but it sound good. Some say the Grey one. I don't know. I don't know what sound you want but maybe a Dyno Comp.

O-yeah, to answer your question. No have not tried a Distortion+ with the Z-28. I used to use one with my Fender amp. It was nice, sounded good, and had a good amount of gainy sound. It also screwed with my sound over all as it was a vintage model.
Compair the Distortion+ to the DOD 308. YOu can buy two DOD's for the price of a Distortion+. The sound quality is equaly nice. Both will do overdrive with a little hair all the way to sizzle distortion....
Niether of these pedals are good stand alone distortion sounds in a clean amp not being pushed. Push the amp to just before or at slight break up and these pedals work wonderfuly.
So many stupids buy the DOD 308 thinking it the Malmsteen sound. Wrong!!!!!! And then they write poor reviews and sell them really cheap. Not thinking that a cheap amp and a cheap guitar running on 1-3 is to blame...
