What an outstanding amp! I'm curious if I'm the first guy who ever considered replacing an old Deluxe Reverb with a Z-28? Nah . . . probably not. ;D

Why replace it? I started using a Z-28 with a Z-Best cab along with my Deluxe Reverb and it's a great combination. At first I ran a cable from the DR to the Z-28, now I'm using a Lehle and have the option to switch back and forth. Usually, both amps are on at the same! Try it, you'll like it! Jack

...i have one of each too...never sell an old Deluxe...you won't get that tone from any other amp....find a way to get the Z-28 without letting go of the Deluxe because you won't get that Z-28 tone from any other amp either.....

I suppose you guys are right. There's nothing like an old DR, but the Z-28 really floored me yesterday. It'd be a nice compliment to my MAZ-18. I guess I'll have to figure out a different way to bring one home.
Thanks for the input!

Ches, hit up psj1026 he recently bought a Z-28 to go with his Maz18. I think he runs them in sterio.
If it's not the DR then it must be the Legacy? Say it ain't so.

I have a short clip and thr sounds page (really crappy) of both amps running together. They definitely compliment eachother. We have been playing small gigs so I havent used them together at a gig yet but I used to run two amps all the time. A Boogie MarkIV and a Peavey Classic 50 was my setup for a while back in the day. They sounded great together. This is better for me now. Less knobs+more tone. The Maz and 28 each sound like Z amps but are different enough to fill any sonic gaps there are between them IMO. Another small place this weekend but I may fill up the joint with a wall of Z anyways! I'll record it if I do and post something for you.
Later,
Pete
