i was having problems where my amp would not power up. Changed 2 amp fuse and rectifier tube, and at least I have power now. I turn it on, take it off of stand by and it works great for a little bit, except for a few pops that I did not hear before, then the sound goes away and all I have is this hum that is pretty loud. Changed the power tubes and same thing. any ideas?

Sounds like maybe you need to see a tech for that. The unfortunate fact is, when a rectifier tube blows, about 90% of the time the fuse protects the rest of the amp. But there are those times when something else gets damaged. I may be wrong, and I hope I am, but it seems to me you need some professional help.

I've had that problem before on a MAZ Sr. , and it turned out that one of the four of the "new" set of power tubes was bad too. Look at the power tubes when it's doing it's "hum" thing. If one is glowing red that's your culprit. It may not glow red (mine didn't) depending on what's wrong with the tube internally. Before you send it back to Z or take it to another tech, try to get your hands on another set of fresh tubes. I recommend going through Eurotubes.com- order two JJ EL84 tubes (exact same tubes as GT EL84S) and either put one of two things in the comments section:
1) I have a Dr. Z MAZ 18, or 2) Please send me two grade "28" EL84's for a Dr. Z MAZ Jr.
Either way Bob will get you tubes with the correct current draw. Bob has 30 different grades of EL84's and #28 on his meter is right in the GT #5-6 ballpark. My MAZ Jr, Sr, and Mazerati GT all have the JJ's from Eurotubes in them and they sound great.
