Myles,
I picked up an early NOS Mullard GZ34 / 5AR4 and some Amperex Bugle Boy EF86s. I want to put them in my RxES head.
1) How will they affect the tone?
2) What can I expect in terms of longevity?
Thanks!

Since you have the tubes, the amp, and the ears, why don't you find out the REAL answer rather than someone elses speculation?

I'm sure you have tried them by now and I would expect you would hear an improvement ?

You will have higher current available over current production rectifiers.
As far as the difference .... that is subjective.
Longevity .... last long enough that it will work when you pass the amp down to your kids in 95% of cases if you don't physically wreck it.
