I have just purchased a used MAZ 38 Invasion amp with 1 Celestion Vintage 30 and 1 Celestion G12H speaker. The Serial # is G 5077.
I have had a great deal of difficulty finding any info on this model anywhere (even in this forum).
Can anyone provide me with info regarding the manufacturing date of of this great amp and anything else on its characteristics and history in the Dr. Z line?
Thanks, Chazor

The amp was built in early 1996, so it's going on eleven years. Older then many boutique amp companies.
That was third year production.
MAZ 38 Invasions were all 2x12 reverb combo's. They had a Presence control and a touch of Negative feedback so they were a bit cleaner and tighter then the currant MAZ 38 Senior.
Many players still like it's cleaner tone.

I too have a MAZ 38 invasion model. It has red tolex and has 1 weber blue dog(ceramic) and 1weber silver bell(ceramic). Although I use my Ghia mostly nowadays as I don't do any live work I do enjoy firing the Invasion up from time to time. It's a great ersatile rig,has heaps of clean headroom with a little of that EL84 chime and can get nasty if you crank the volume as well as the master taking you to marshall territory. Add a good stomp box to the front end and it will scream like a mutha. Low end is tight and as punchy as I need as I mainly play roots and blues rock and country rock. All in all it's a great piece of kit, the reverb is very useable,it gets a little washed out if you dime it past 5 unlike say a twin that can go higher and do surf, but i do most of my surfing in the ocean and not on the guitar so I don't really need a huge amount of reverb aala **** Dale in my rig besides this amp is way more versatile than anything fender ever made.
Thanks Doc, I love the amp.......................think I might like a Z28 for roots rock and Kt45 for heavier rockin' more, but I ain't selling it nontheless.
She's a real beauty!!!

Thanks for the feedback Dr. Z & groovergeorge.
It's the clean tone that blows me away on this model. I do a lot of sixties rock and surf stuff. It's the perfect amp for it.
I'd buy another Invasion if one in good shape was out there.
Rock on!
