I ordered all new tubes for my Maz. I pulled out the rectifier tube to put in the new JAN NOS Sylvania 5AR4 and a metal thingie came out stuck on one of the tube pins.
I guess the answer is obvious; take it to a local amp guy to get the thingie stuck back in but is this something I can do myself?
I've worked on lots of guitars but usually leave the amps to the guys who know what they're doing.

The same thing happened to my rectifier tube. I called Dr. Z. It might make a difference which pin receptor it is. Luke

Thanks for your reply Luke. It's the middle pin receptor. Maybe I'll give the Doc a try.

Be careful messing around with the rectifier socket. I'm pretty sure the caps can discharge through there which could kill you dead.

I was just going to take the amp apart and try to stick the pin receptor back on myself. My amp tech is not in today. I'm home with a kidney stone and just wanted to play a bit. Thanks for the warning Bill.

+1 for billy, both for the potentially life saving tip, & to get him over the hump to 100!
