I had a Maz 18 Jr before my Ghia, and while it was a fine amp, I sold it a week after I got the Ghia because the Ghia was literally impossible to get a bad sound out of and took pedals beautifully. At 9:00 and the tone between 11:00 and 1:00 it maintains a perfect clean. Around 10:00 you get some breakup. I use it with a Clark Gainster and a Pharaoh Sweet Cheetah for high gain. Toss in a tuner and a solo boost and a 2x12 and you're set for a lot of different size gigs.

For the studio, get the Ghia. If you play out a lot, get the Jr.

Is it just me or is the maz much much louder then the ghia. My ghia is a zbest v30+g12h and the maz was just a single g12h and I think the maz was much much louder.

I've got both the Ghia and Maz jr and after about 6 months I still can't figure out witch one I like the best but if I was only going to use it in the studio I would get the Ghia. Both amps are perfect for what you described and you can't go wrong either way. Get some NOS tubes in the front end and you'll be in tone heaven. I do have to agree with Kruzty when I play out I usually take the JR with me.

You have all those amps you mentioned....and "the list goes on"?
I would purchase an attenuator before another amp.

For the studio, get the Ghia. If you play out a lot, get the Jr. This is sound advice. But the Ghia is a great gig amp too. it's just unbeatable in the studio...magic ;D
