Hi, I'm new to the forum and I have been thinking about picking up a Jr head with verb, and running it through my Marshall 4X12 with Cel Green Backs. My first experience with the Z line was a Sr through the Z Best (awesome tone) but I think that combo is too much for me right now. I'm just wondering if anyone has used their Jr with the same Marshall cab I have and can offer any comments on the pairing?

At one time I had a MAZ Jr NR head and on occasion played it through a Marshall "Classic" 4x12 with Greenbacks...It rocked

I recently played at a jam and there was a marshall JTM2000 with an ampeg 4/12 cab (the big -deep one) and I have to say the tone from this set up just dwarfed any combo amp there. I was in an oldies band that only used monster anps with big cabs, The other guitarist had a Bandmaster, I had an Ampeg V4 and the bass player used an SVT thru a 2/15 cab. I tried to use a combo amp one night with that band and it just did'nt work. I have all small combo amps now and am ptetty happy with my tone but there is something that I'm missing by playing combo's and that's the thump that you get from a closed back 4/12 cab. I'm going to have to find a used Marsall cab and throw some greenbacks in there and use it with my MAZ, I just know it will expand the sound, Hell even my Blues Jr will probably sound like a real amp.
