Can I plug a 8 Ohms 2x12 cab in the 8 Ohms output AND a 4 Ohms 4x12 cab in the 4 Ohms output at the same time without damaging the output transformer (or any part of the amp)?

Nope.... what you need to do is get a splitter cable. This way you can run (2) 8 ohm cabs from the splitter cable. You will need to plug into the 4 ohm output on your amp, not the 8 ohm. Any other way might cause stress to your transformer.

I did use a Y cord to plug 2 8 ohms cabs already, but this time I wanted to know if it was ok to use an 8 ohms cab+ a 4 ohms cab, in other words to use the 2 outputs of the head simultaneously...

I think if your combined ohms are less than 4... which in this case I think you would be, then I think you are not advised to to it. Just for a real short time you could hear it, but my advice would be to get another 8 ohm cab, or get new speakers in your 4 ohm cab to turn it into an 8 ohm cab.

just to be clear... I don't think you should use both output jacks at the same time. This would be a good question to ask Myles.

Thank you, hope Myles will chime in at some point... How can I make an 8 ohms 4x12? 16 ohms speakers allow me to make a 4 or 16 ohms cab and 8 ohms speakers allow me to make a 2 or 8 ohms cab, or am I missing something?

It depends on whether you wire the speakers in parallel or in series. Right now (2) 16 ohm speakers in in parallel wiring will give you an 8 ohm cab. www.tonetubby.com/spkwire.htm The websight above will show you diagrams of different combinations that you can use to get an 8 ohm cab.

I still don't see how I could turn a 4x12 cab equiped with 16 ohms speakers into an 8 ohms cab... That is mathematically impossible, am I right? So my problem remains the same: I can't use my 2x12 AND my 4x12 together otherwise than by plugging in the 2 speakers out of my MAZ, provided I won't harm the amp... Any more info on the subject?

You can wire the 4x12 cab for 16 ohms and run it in parallel with the 2x12. That will get you closer to 4 ohms without going below it (5.33).
