I’ve read most of the threads so as a newbie I thought I would ask again. I don’t care for the Dr z 10” speakers. Would like to replace them with something with less mid range and less spike high end. Looking for thoughts and ideas. Eminence Rajin Cajun? Greenbacks? Not looking to put Blues or Gold in it. Thanks

What you’re explaining isn’t the DRZ 10’s that I designed !

Welcome to the forum. My Z10's didn't sound like your description but they were well broken in when I got the cab. I did replace them in my Z 2x10 cab with a pair of C-Rex 10s but only because I wanted the cab to be 4 ohm instead of 8 ohm. I hope you find some you are happy with.

You're considering greenbacks? They're a rather midrange focused speaker.

You're considering greenbacks? They're a rather midrange focused speaker. All 10" speakers are Mid focused by design. Less low-end and more top end due to cone size. Tens aren't for everyone, but they do work well for many. Some confuse punchy and articulate for overly mid rangy and spikey.

My favorite amp ever was a 210 Ghia combo with the Z10"s. Unfortunately it got smashed to heck when it was shipped to me and couldn't work out what repairs the seller would cover so it went back. Boy, did it sound great.
My Ghia 110 has a Greenback. When it came to me it didn't have many hours on it, but since I've broken it in I really like it a lot.
Have you considered swapping one for something that is warmer and seeing how it might balance out the Z?

Less Mids and a flatter response I would go with the Ragin Cajuns or the Tone Tubby 40/40 10”, and the WGS ET10 is another good choice.
I personally really like the DRZ 10’s, my only complaint is that I don’t play out as much anymore and they are really efficient speakers. I went through a bunch of speakers and ended up back at the DRZ’s in my last 2x10.

Z 10'2 once broken in are the best IMHO, but they do need some break in just like all new speakers.

I’m a huge fane of ten inch speakers. Having two is wonderful. More dimension in the sound. With good tens, there’s no lack of low end as many presume. I do tend towards more American sounding speakers across the board. I’ve got four 2x10 cabs… one of them has the old Scumbacks that Weber was making for Jim… a British greenback / anniversary sort of combo. It pairs well with Marshall type amps for a more British sound. I really like the Fat Jimmy and Jupiter speakers that WGS makes.

Thanks I'm an expert on this. If you want loud punchy best 10 speaker carmen ghia combination is eminence ramrods. If you want less loud a tad less mid but loose low end (more flabby) go greenbacks 10. Havent tried warehouse speakers on Carmen Ghia.
