I have owned the Wreck and 2x12 since it came out. I have also owned a wreck jr combo for about a year. I think they are different amps but share some of the same dna. The greenback changes the tone, feel, and breakup a lot. The lower power gets you into breakup more. And the master on the jr really makes it able to do a lot. I find that I like the jr with a les paul a lot where the big wreck and a les paul is just way too much.
Anyways, Id like to make the big wreck more versatile so I am considering the master mod. I just fear that it takes away from the design of the amp. Same with the 1/2 power. I dont want to loose speed/comfort either. Has anyone done the mod and regretted it or was on the fence and decided against it?

There haven't been many people who have gotten this mod as it is a relatively new offering.
That said, there is no downside to getting it done. If you want to put the amp back to "stock" configuration, you simply turn the master volume all the way up.

I added one to mine myself. I love it, and like Frankie said, if you want it out of the circuit, turn it to 10.

Had that been an option, I would have taken it over the jr. That said, I’ve not needed anything louder than the jr.
