Can anyone confirm whether the new z28 faceplate is reversible for converting head to front facing combo cab?
Thanks

Red, I was told by Doc that my faceplate is double sided on my MKII.

Thanks. I’ve read that about Z plates in general. My concern is the Z28 MKII combo is top facing not front facing. So the combo/head share the same orientation but knobs/switches in different order left to right.
Guess I’ll find out soon enough!

The plates do not need turned with the MKII Combo Cabinet, but the face plate is reversible to use with standard Z Combo Cabs.JaguarMike has his mounted in a StandardZ Combo.

I’ve got everything loose except the bezel around the power light. Help! I’m stuck. Looks like the collar unscrews maybe? But how do get hold of it? I tried a latex glove and jar opener thingy, pliers too but no luck.

I tried a latex glove and jar opener thingy, pliers too but no luck. I have used needle nose pliers to work the nut on the inside of the amp. Someone found a link to a wrench and we all bought one of those wrenches. I can't find the thread, but I believe it was Zpilot that found the link. Here is a link to a wrench www.tonecraftaudio.com/fender-style-jewel-nut-wrench

So you can’t take this off from the front? And how do I access the inside of the chassis??
Ugh
Thanks

FWIW, those nuts are much harder to get out on a slant face Fender amp. I have the wrench, but curved needle nose plier can work in a pinch.

I’m beyond frustrated. Have the wrench. Can’t budge the nut in either direction. 🤬
The wrench isn’t snug. It slips as soon as you try to actually use it. Ugh
I’m completely stuck at this point.

FYI. My tech said removing the power light bezel required soldering. Just a warning to others, flipping the faceplate isn’t as easy as it sounds.
But overall I’m loving the results.

Looks great! Sorry about the issue with the light. The Maz that I converted was just nuts. Glad you got it worked around, enjoy seeing the cab with a new life.
