Well first off, if you coil up your amplifiers power cord after every use, you might want to stop doing that every time.
The outside casing on my Z-Plus power cord has pulled away from the (chassis end) plug exposing the interier wires. I roll my cord up into a coil of 10"-12" at the end of each day. I think that rolling the cord up put strain on the junction of the plug and the cord outside casing. Since the cord remained plugged into the chassis side, the strain pulled the cord casing away from the plug.
Where does one purchase a new IEC power cord for a beloved Z-Plus amp?

It’s just a standard chord. You probably can get it at Staples or Amazon. Just check the length.

Those IEC power cords are pretty universal. However, I would advise to check either the current rating (10~13 amps?) and/or the gauge (likely 3x14, 3x16, or 3x18) of the Dr. Z-supplied cord that you've got. Replace it with a like-rated cord, and then don't lose one second of sleep over it after that.

They cost $2 or less at any Goodwill Store or Thrift store.

Does anyone know the correct gauge of wire I should look for. I don't want to chance compromising the amps.ETL Certification.

All power related components then became part of the certification and are checked by ETL inspector 4 times a year during a random surprise inspection at my shop. The specific power cord like many of my components are very over rated for the general use. Fender and Marshall both use 18 AWG X 3 .

the 12ft power cords that Z includes with his amps are really nice. Just the right length and still easy to handle and store

16 gauge x 12ft. It is! Thanks! Wanted to make sure I didn't use an inadequate cord. Nothing but the best for my Z-Plus!
